If you want real, living grass rather than turf, we grade and install sod using the varieties that actually hold up to a low-desert Arizona summer.

The most widely used lawn grass in Arizona. Medium-coarse texture with a blue-green color, excellent recovery from wear, and a good transition from winter overseeding. Handles moderate salinity and drought well.

A durable, dark green, fine-textured bermuda used on more sports fields and golf courses than any other variety. A great all-around choice for home lawns with very good wear recovery and strong drought tolerance.

A true sun-and-shade bermuda, bred to handle up to 60% shade on as little as 4-5 hours of direct sun a day. Fine texture, dark green color — the right choice for yards with significant tree or structure shade.

A semi-dwarf St. Augustine with excellent shade performance that also thrives in full sun — the most heat-tolerant St. Augustine variety available. Coarse, soft-bladed, bright green. Not overseeded for winter color.
Bermuda is the standard choice for full-sun low-desert lawns due to its heat and drought tolerance. St. Augustine is better if your yard has significant shade.
Only if you want it green through winter — Bermuda naturally goes dormant (tan, not dead) in cooler months. Overseeding with ryegrass each fall keeps it green year-round.
Photos only tell you so much. Every pattern and color on this page is on display at our showroom, so you can see and feel the real texture before you decide.
